Save Seconds........Seconds Save Lives |
| Dispatchers
are a vital link between the community and emergency personnel.
A dispatcher is the first person that you speak with when you
call the Police Department or 911, and are the ones that send
help in the time of an emergency. Whether you need Police, Fire,
or Emergency Medical Services the dispatchers are responsible
to get that service to you. |

Dispatchers
are here to serve and protect just like Police Officers. One
way they do this is by being that listening ear on the other
end of the phone we you are in need of help. Whether someone
is breaking into your house, or you have an unwanted person
at your door, dispatchers are trained to know what information
to relate to the Police Officers responding to your emergency
and to give you instructions to keep you safe until Police get
there to help. |

At
any given time the dispatchers of the Maumelle Police Department
may be found answering multiple phones, using up to three computers
at a time, communicating with Police and Fire on separate radio
channels, and logging it all into the computer aided dispatch.
All of this is done “behind the scenes” and often
goes overlooked. Although this job has high stress levels at
times, we realize that dispatchers are.........................THE
