Maumelle Police Department recognizes the concerns associated with school violence. The department also realizes that early, positive interaction between Police and today's youth will make for a better future for all. For this reason the department implemented the School Resource Officer Division.

This division is responsible for keeping each school in Maumelle safe and educating the children on such subjects as drug use, violence, gangs, driving, and more. The division works close with each school's administration and attempts to get to know the students and help them with any problems.

The division is comprised of Lt. Mike Wilson and Ofc. Ryan Healy. Both Lt. Wilson and Ofc. Healy work hard to ensure that attending a school in Maumelle is a learning experience and not a place of disorder and violence.
